Tis the season to be Jolly

Can you believe it's the first of December tomorrow already?! This year has flown by!
The countdown to Christmas can officially begin; the countdown to presents, mince pies, Christmas dinner but also the sometimes dreaded but always fun Christmas parties!

I am particularly excited for my works Christmas party this year! I have been super organised and have purchased a whole new outfit; dress, accessories, the works!

However, I know a lot of people have struggled to find something as they don't know where to look first.
Fear no more ladies! Here are some of my favourite, seasonal fashion picks that are absolutely perfect for the party season and will wow everyone at the office.

The first is a gorgeous little dress from Topshop. I have had my eye on this myself for a while now, I just think it is simply stunning. A twist to the faithful LBD by adding the sparkling gold throughout, plus, the skater dress is perfect for anyone, shape or size. It is perfect for you lucky slim girls out there who want to create curves, just simply add a skinny belt to cinch in the waist and create a slim waist but enviable hips; But if you're lucky enough to have curves in all the right places, a skater dress will simply skim over your hips and bum, hiding any lumps/bumps you (think) you have. A figure envied by all.

The second dress is another delightful number from Topshop, although very different from the one above. I have fallen in love with Bodycon Midi dresses, as they are super flattering and plain enough to dress up or down. Seen as this is for an occasion where only up will do, this dress is perfect to add super high heels, and a stunning clutch bag and have a play around with statement necklaces to see which fits best with your own style. I personally love wearing longer, pendant necklaces with such dresses as it doesn't take away from the dress too much and it means you can have a bag or shoes as more of a statement.

Two of the biggest trends that we have seen hit our highstreet have been; Leather and Peplum. This is why this dress is perfect as it challenges both trends with a super subtle, sophisticated look but still great for the party season. Don't think by wearing a plain, black dress you are opting out of the glitz/sparkle of the Christmas season or that you're playing it safe. You can never go wrong with a black dress, plus it means you can really go for the wow factor with your shoes/handbag. Try a bold, bright colour or a glitter/sprakly heel to add to the gorgeousness that is this dress.

The next dress is an adorable Miss Selfridge number! I absolutely love walking past the Miss Selfridge window as it has channeled a vintage, pastel look for its Christmas theme and they have done it perfectly. It looks how Christmas should be; beautiful with a touch of glamour. Miss Selfridge have brought out a collection which is called 'Little Princess' and is full of beautiful, delicate pieces that create a vintage, glamourous vibe - absolutely stunning. Here is a dress that shows off what Miss Selfridge does best and make women feel womanly! This is just the cutest little dress and I think you would find it very difficult to not feel pretty in it. The peter pan collar detail is so cute and really brings a 'young girly' feel to it. Teamed with loose curls, nude wedges and a deep coloured lipstick it would really bring this dress to life and you could really play on the vintage feel.

Another spectacular dress by the one and only, Miss Selfridge! Every time I see this in the shop I want it more and more, it's gorg! This would be perfect if you were planning on going for a sit down meal or a more sophisticated night, like a hired venue. I wouldn't recommend wearing anything maxi to a sweaty nightclub (Speaking from experience). Again they too have used the trend that is leather but teamed it with an oversized print - genius! This is a dress, that although a bit more expensive than the others, would be really simple to wear as the print says it all. The cut outs at the top of the top also give it an edgy feel - make sure you're brave enough to bare the cold though! ;)

Prom dresses have been around for a while now, and I really love that the style can be worn on an everyday occasion like a Christmas party. These have the cute, girly element to them and can be teamed with super cute shoes and natural make-up to create the perfect prom look. It would be like going back in time! However, this dress has a twist, which again is so NOW! Studs! One of my favourite at the moment, they just make any outfit/shoes completely different compared to what they would look like without them. They vamp up any cute outfit, and add simple detailing to something plain. This dress is an overall winner. Well Done Miss Selfridge!

Oh how I have died and gone to sequin heaven with this utter beauty! I love the fact it's in a colour I have never really seen before in a sequin number. Perfect shape, style, colour... Oh I am in love! I think you all should be too. This dress is a bit of a splurge but I'm sure we can all make the exception, right?

Another sequined number, because, it wouldn't be Christmas without them! This is a nice, cute alternative to the one above if you don't have the money to splurge and you need something quick, easy and affordable! This sound like you? Then head on over to Missguided! One of the best women online retailers I have ever dealt with. They are affordable, stylish, sizes are brill, super friendly/helpful, prompt with deliveries and one of my favourite things about companies they are absolutely excellent with social media! This dress comes in another 2 colours (black and a lighter gold) and could be worn in numerous ways. The dress itself, on its own, is beautiful but I bet most of you are thinking I'm crazy adding a sleeveless, short dress onto here when the weather is freezing, fear not! This dress would still look just as stunning when teamed with a boyfriend fit blazer and some heeled ankle boots (i.e. Jeffery Campbell or Missguideds cheaper alternatives). Push your boundaries of party dresses this season and see how many compliments you get :)

Here, is a super cute dress from Matalan! Personally, I think Matalan can sometimes be hit or miss. Sometimes it will have something you love every time you go in, or it will have nothing that catches your eye and leaves you feeling rather disappointed! Not this time, this time is most definitely a hit! I adore this cute mesh dress. There's no sequins, no glitzy, just a simple dress that can be played safe or really took to town because of it's amazing array of different colours. Keep it simple by teaming with black accessories and really make the colours pop, or choose one colour out of the dress to focus on and match either shoes, bag or lipstick to create a coloirful, playful vibe.

I can hear many of you shouting 'What about if you don't wear dresses?!' Don't worry, don't worry I've thought of you too. The next fashion must have for the Christmas season are these amazing, super sparkly, sequined leggings from French Connection! These are a great alternative for anyone who isn't a dress fan, team with a plain black or coloured peplum top and heels - simple but absolutely stunning.

Who doesn't love a bit of leopard? especially glitzy leopard print! This skirt is perfect to show your inner wild child, the colours are spectacular and is great to rock for the party season.

Peplum, sequins and affordable? You just can't say no! This is a great alternative to a dress and could be teamed with a number of things. Channel your inner rock chick just like the model and team with a buttoned up shirt, with a statement necklace under the collar and with skyscraper heels, OR keep it simple with a plain black slinky vest top, with low hanging pendant necklaces, hair up in a ring bun and with cute, high wedges! Outfit sorted, erm, YES!

I have this top myself and it is absolutely stunning, and a perfect fit! I can't wait to wear it out on the town this Christmas. I plan to team it with a plain black, stretch material pencil skirt with black wedges! Sophisticated but with a huge smack in the face of sparkle! :) Or if you want to wear something different, you could wear it with disco pants/leggings for a dressed down feel but the sequins add the much needed sparkle! And at £20 it really would be rude not to!

Hope this has helped all you lovely ladies out there with your search on finding the perfect outfit for this Christmas Party season!
Hopeful
